Microsoft "bugs" Me (rants Included)

Yeah, it's a pun. Anyway... Today I just had it with Microsoft. Several reasons why not to like Microsoft:

- Windows doesn't work

- It copies off other people's ideas (and they don't make it better, but worse)

- Do I even have to explain Internet Exploder Explorer?

- Have you seen the PC and Mac commercials?

I'm not entirely sure why I have Windows, not Linux. Windows is so bad. So you might be thinking, "What's the problem this time?" Well, I'll explain.

Two words: Automatic Update. Why can't they put a checkbox that says: "Never bug me again about AutoUpdates. Ever." Nope. So I had to stop the troubles manually. Great.

I went to my Control Panel, clicked Automatic Updates, turned it off, and then this balloon popped up.

A few things...

Not sure what problems you have, however I have Vista, and haven't had any trouble worth noting. Plus not many people have trouble with XP.

Do you have any examples to back up this claim?

- Do I even have to explain Internet Exploder Explorer?

IE isn't the best browser, I personally prefer FireFox. However for the most part this is based on opinion.

- Have you seen the PC and Mac commercials?

Those commercials are obviously biased as they advertise Macs, that bias destroys the entire point.

Automatic updates are you know, important. They keep your computer up-to-date. I honestly don't know nor understand why you think they are bad.

True, but it often 'explodes'.

Search in Google: microsoft products came from other products. One of the result's headlines will be: "Microsoft admits Vista failure".

Yes. My dad had once found a website with all the things they had copied. I'll try to find the link.

Yes, but they are usually true.

Yeah, but they pop up in your face and bug you. Busy people have no time to start their computer up all the time.

A few things in response... :P

Vista has major problems, and Microsoft has even admitted it. XP isn't as bad, but there's no denying how annoying it is when a program becomes non-responsive and has to close, only for the obnoxious "Would you like to tell Microsoft about this error?" message to pop up.

Take tabbed browsing, for example. Microsoft didn't invent tabbed browsing--Opera had it long before, and still has it better than IE, where you can actually close the browser and open it up exactly where you left off, without even having to save any sessions. And there are cases where Microsoft just bought someone else's software and copied it and released it as their own.

Firefox and Opera have better features then IE, period--it's no matter of opinion.

Eh...no comment there. :P

The problem isn't automatically updating, it's that stupid text message that pops up every 10 minutes giving you 5 minutes to click "restart later" before it automatically restarts your computer, regardless of whatever you're doing. I have a laptop and generally just put my computer in standby and plug it into the charger instead of turning it off. In standby mode, the countdown will still occur, and even while in standby mode, my computer might just restart without my consent due to automatic updates. That's the main problem here.
