*seething Rage*

Raging Land Squid

I got accused of stealing from the Lego section of my local Wal-Mart because of how I look.

I always wear a long black trench coat, where ever I go...

As my mother and I were leaving, I overheard a security officer telling the greeter and another person that there was some guy, 17-18 yrs. old, in a long black trench coat... I heard the word theft... I was livid...

But, concidering I WALKED RIGHT PAST THEM, and I have UNMISSABLE BRIGHT GREEN HAIR, what does that tell you about the Wal-Mart security staff?

I really want to punch someone right now... Verily...

Anyways... Last nightI built this awesome MoC weapon out of two gunmetal Zamors, a gunmetal piece of Inika Armor, Two gunmetal Zamor ammo holders, and 8 other pieces... It's a bolt launcher for the Toa of Lightning I just built... Sweetness...

Methinks you should just wear the trenchcoat for bad weather and parties, man. People do use heavy clothing to shoplift, all the time. I mean, I have favorite articles of clothing, too, man, but I don't wear my hooded sweaters on every occasion ever, because sometimes it's just impractical. While Wal-Mart admittedly staffs majorly with morons, you have a part in the blame.

Considering the description you gave of yourself, I would probably be a bit suspicious of you. That may just be because I work in an area with theft. Thus we have to keep an eye on suspicious looking customers.

Now then, it seems to me that you are saying that the security is incompetent. However, for most stores they can't do anything unless they have proof, even then they can't touch the person as that can be dangerous, plus all of the legal reasons. I'm not going to say everything that they can and can't do.

Of course they way you wrote this it doesn't seem as if they pulled you aside. Which means that you don't know if they were necessarily talking about you.

It just sort of rattled me... That's all...

Funny thing is, me, and all my friends who dress like me, don't shoplift... The "Normies", however, steal TONS of stuff...

Have you ever considered not wearing a trenchcoat?

One time some staff gave me a weird look as I was cleaning up some pieces on the floor.
I just told them the container was already open and I accidently knocked it off the shelf, so I was cleaning it up.
They believed me, so I was happy.

My story was true, BTW. I didn't open it. It was Kopaka Nuva I believe...

In the end, your own description makes you sound vaguely suspicious. You can't exactly blame them; it's their job.

I just can't stand it when anybody bases their opinion on somebody because of how they look... I dress in a boring way, and people still glance my way with a suspicious look on their face, because of my height, and the teenager thing....

Is it just me, or does anyone actually know that people who purposefully dress to stand out actually steal more than normal-seeming people? I mean, think about it, if I wanted to rob a place, wouldn't I dress as inconspicuously as I could?
