Another One Of Those Responses
Have you noticed that some people seem to think they can justify anything, even the rudest or just plain stupidest behaviour, by saying "it was supposed to be funny" (and other variations, such as "I did it for the 'lulz'" and "it was humor")?
I always find myself wondering who misinformed them--don't you? It's so very obviously not true. I mean, I could go into someone's home and call him a string of expletives and epithets. Would saying "I did it for the 'lulz'" prevent me from being arrested for committing a hate crime? Of course not.
Do these people honestly think that by slapping a clause onto the end of a hateful statement makes it "okay"? Or are they just total brats?
Oh, it really makes me wonder...
