Performance
Our school band class had their Spring Concert (aka: our Final) last night. It lasted for an hour and a half, which was an hour and a half longer than I had hoped it would. I can think of better ways to spend two hours of my life, and I really wish I didn't have to turn down a friend's offer to ride bikes last night, but ah well.
The concert went okay I guess. I couldn't imagine what would happen if the choir actually tried to sing a lullaby. It would be disastrous, and might affect the future for the next three years. As for the band, we played the same songs that the director's been having us play for the last few years. It would be really awesome if two schools could switch directors for a semester. It would give this dull town a little variety.
Unfortunately, my saxophone (Tenor saxophone too, so the reed has to be really flexible for the lower sound) reed snapped a few hours before the concert, and I had to use a new one. Though it worked slightly better than the cracked reed, I had troubles playing about half of the notes. Two of the three harder notes to play with a stiff reed are the notes in my solo. It went alright. I had some Baritone back-up.
