Long ago I had a need for this.

Quote of the Day (one of my favorites!): It hurt the way your tongue hurts after you accidentally staple it to the wall.

Why would you need to dismantle a perfectly good keychain mini figure when the odds are you could buy a set with it in it, or even purchase the minifig online somewhere or at Brickfest or something. Seems like more work than nessesary and alout of wear and tear on the parts. Unless you were trying to find some way to have a customized key chain.

That QotD seems awful familiar.

I needed a police for a DNAngel vignette. When I got home from the Lego store I realized it was harder than I thought to take the metal stuff off.

So now I have a police keychain.

And now I finally have a police minifig; got it last month.

Since I've only gotten one comment on my blog's subtitle, I thought I'd toss it in as the QotD.

Well, snowtroopers only come in $50 sets or more, and even then, the most you get in a single set is two.

You don't need fancy tools to extract a keychain. All you do is pull and the pin releases from the fig.

Which leaves you with a hole on top of the fig's head.

True with the troopers.

As for the hole in the fig's head, it'll happen no matter what, unless you take that milk idea, but I think that with the Omi's method the whole will be bigger because it'll be a little harder and not as orderly.

Unless you pull hard enough and straight enough.

Well, you can go online to non-Lego places and buy mini figs, I'm sure. Anyway, at NW Brickcon, there was a vendor selling mini figs, like the star wars ones, for about the same price as the key chains... and those didn't even have the holes in them.

Of course, all the key chains I've bought have been used as key chains, so...

If you get a bigger hole, then your pulling wrong. :P
