Severe Flooding

Some of the people who I've talked to know I've been getting a lot of rain in my area, and I mean that. So much so that a few states are in states of emergency.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle sought emergency aid for 29 counties on Sunday, while President George W. Bush declared a major disaster in 29 Indiana counties.

Iowa Gov. Chet Culver, meanwhile, said nearly a third of his state's 99 counties need federal help.

The area I'm in is safe right now. However, my county is one of those in the State of Emergency. That doesn't mean that I haven't seen any flooding, I have seen my share of flooding. Some spots usually hold a lot of water when it rains, and right now they look like really small lakes. The bad news is these are the fields of the farmers.

Heck the weather has been so bad that the other day when I was off my Wal-Mart had a Code Black, which is a severe weather code. All customers and associates go to the safest area of the store.

Odds are if you turn on the news you'll hear something about the flooding as it is a large story.

Link to the article I got the quote from. It was the first one I found in my search and as they all said the same thing, I'm just using the one I found first.

Yeah, I saw some footage of the floods yesterday, and they looked real bad. I also heard there were tornadoes and flooding. That doesn't sound liek fun at all.

Glad you're not in any danger. :)

Yeah when the tornadoes occurred the radar showed the worst part of the storm heading our way... and nothing really happened. It was weird.

Of course if we did have flooding where I am I would end up eroding.

And meanwhile, in Glen Ullin, ND, we are almost 3 inches below average in precipitation. Also in a burn ban.
