To Beer Or Not To Beer
Just got back from a beer-tasting session. I went with my dad and brother-in-law (who'd already been there and was already rather groggy). The guy made his own home-brewed beer, usually only for friends and family, but as it was Old Crafts Weekend, he opened his home to the public. He built his own brewing installation in his garage (or carhole, as Moe calls it) and everything.
He names his beers after famous 'icons' from Temse's (my home town) past: we've got a statue on the quay depicting four of them, the Quay Walkers. So far, he's got three kinds of beer, and they're called The Brown One (a brown beer, a bit heavy but containing too much sugar IMHO), The Thwarter (a white beer, a bit heady but not too much) and The Nagger, my personal favourite.
Meanwhile there was a real rain storm, and we were sitting on benches in party tents. Roar, thunder, fill 'em up, bartender.
