I just realized how easily misconstrued that title could be.

I also realized that in general my entry title has to do with about a quarter of the blog entry as a whole, on average.

Anyway, vector is awesome. Unfortunately, since I was working on this at 100x100 resolution, it came out kinda bad downsized to 64x64. I'm still tweaking, the below version has slightly greater contrast on the light purple areas.

Enlarged to 200x200 by the magic of the pen tool. It's a heckuva lot better than my last av. I'm starting to get the hang of this.

Admittedly the moon and clouds was a cop-out. Couldn't come up with an idea for a new background so I went with what I've been using the last two times.

Tomorrow's my last day here at CMU. I'll be packing up tomorrow and heading out Saturday. It was a fun time. Oh GOD I have so many summer assignments that I've been procrastinating on... v_v but I'll survive.

I didn't really get out as much as I did last year. For one thing we've got more work for this program... for another thing Pittsburgh just seems a bit less accessible... the rack full of bus maps was quite intimidating. In New York there's one map for the Subway and the nice grid layout makes Manhattan easy to navigate. The 1 line gets you to Times Square, Union Square, and I forget how the heck we made it down to Battery Park that one time but we certainly managed to figure it out from the map.

Battery Park is beautiful, by the way, I mean that place is just so... wow. Like, I want to live there.

Enough about NY. I finished Lucky Star yesterday (I'm so sad it's over ;-; ) and I'm NOT taking any recommendations for what to watch next since I just got rid of one distraction so I'm not replacing it with another. Once I'm done with my summer assignments... but not until then.

I was trying to read Oedipus today (it's one of our summer reading assignments) and considering this small room the only comfortable place to read was on my bed (I can't read at my desk; I'd get distracted!). So I'm lying sideways on my pillow reading this ancient Greek play and gosh this translation is hard to understand and you have to focus so hard to grasp the concept of each line and... and...

... and the next thing I know my roommate is in the room and the clock reads an hour in the future. And now I'm still slightly groggy. Oy... I'll probably have trouble falling asleep tonight.

That's right, I seriously have to readjust my sleep schedule. When going to bed at 2 AM becomes "normal" for me... well last night I went to bed at 12:40 which is quite the feat but then I couldn't fall asleep for over an hour (I know this because I set my fan on a 1 hour timer when I go to bed and it turned off while I was still lying there trying to fall asleep) but I still ended up pretty well rested, in fact, waking up at around eight today and allowing myself to lie there until my alarm went off at nine because I deserved an hour of dozing :P .

Bah... brain... still thinks its asleep... grargh.

OH YEAH THE BEIJING OLYMPICS! My dad refused to leave to pick us up on Friday because he wanted to watch the opening ceremonies; he's gonna have to hustle on Saturday 'cuz they kick us out at noon and it's a six hour drive. But man I can't wait... whatever the heck they're watching on the TV in the common room I'm forcefully commandeering it and we're all watching the opening ceremonies.

EDIT: Not worth posting another entry in the same day (technically it's past 12 already, but whatever).

I was scrolling through my "stuff" folder on Maj which has accumulated the trash of, like, four years, and I came across this old thing.

CURSOR FUN!

It's still fun! Won't work if you're on a Mac, but just scroll your cursor over, close your eyes for a second, and see if you can find the real cursor (it has a slight shadow).

Wow... I must have been so bored to make that...

I read the Oedipus Cycle for my second semester English class, Senior Year. It was actually pretty good. Kinda creepy, but good.

Love the way that the avatar is turning out. I can't wait to see the finished product.
