The Bird And The Bee Sides
I downloaded the Bird and the Bee Sides Relient K CD a few days ago, I had heard the songs "Scene and Herd" and "The Lining Is Silver" on their site before the CD came out, so I knew there were at least two awesome songs to look forward to.
Of course, it being Relient K CD, I knew it'd be awesome, as there is no song by Relient K that I don't like, just some I like more than others.
But as this CD was a B side rarities kinda collection, it is an awesome selection of songs and demos.
The song "Scene and Herd" Matt mentions a new drummer but the same old thing, this obviously refering to their new drummer that they have, who replaced the drummer they had for 7 years. I think this drummer was a good choice though, he seems to have picked up along with them pretty quickly.
I always like the acoustic versions of their songs a lot 'cause it's interesting to listen to the differant things they use to mimic the sound of their original version.
But the acoustic version of "Up and Up" is one of my favorites of their acoustics, the best is what you hear just at the beginning, but as it goes on, there's a nice touch of differant sounds to replicate the original sounds of "Up and Up".
There's also an acoustic version of "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been", which is also a nice one, nothing really worth noting on that one how ever.
Also, one of my favorites of the new ones even though it's only around a minute long is "You'll Always Be My Best Friend".
Another good one to note is "Curl Up and Die", it's a really good song in my opinion.
An interesting song on here is the remake of their song "The Thief", which they didn't really change much except add an intro at the beginning and slow the speed of the song down a bit. The new title being "There Was No Thief".
Not to mention this CD also has a total of 26 tracks, so to sum this up, I'd recommened this CD to long loyal Relient K fans, and this wouldn't be a bad choice for someone who's never heard them before and wants to check them out.
Oh, and there's a little song thrown in here called "Beaming" which is kinda little joke, it mentions beam me up, Scotty.
Being the price of a normal CD, this makes it well worth the price, so run down to your local record store and pick a copy up!
That's about all, and remember, disco is in this year!
