Kids Camp

i think my first day at camp had a lot of bad things crammed into it.

but first, here are some things learned by a lot of people:

you can't get cell phone service on a digital camera.

you can't tell blue from purple in the dark.

you can't get to sleep when you want to.

you fall asleep when you don't want to.

camp food is better than school food.

it is easier to trot a horse bareback than it is to walk a horse bareback.

it's hard to get to the waterfall. (but worth it)

NOW, my complaints

first, i nearly got promoted from junior counselor to counselor when the counselor i was supposed to be paired with got sick the night before. thankfully, another junior counselor came in and we shared the work.

second, the usual cabin-swap occured, when all the cabins need to find beds, new cabins, and adults to help out. i had to find a whole new cabin for our group, and move everything down to the new cabin, and move the luggage of a boys cabin back from the one they chose to the one they were supposed to be in, and then took a break and helped with the superslide.

three, i didn't eat all of my lunch.

four, i noticed that a lot of little traditions of the camp were vanishing. the beast had vanished, (if you find it, you get in first at the next meal) it was replaced with a coconut. it was only found once. (who wants to look for a coconut?) skits, usualy done during campfire, were optional this year. there was no candy drop, :(, no archery, and the replacement activity was hated by all. it was too hot to do any paintball, and, um, the camp just seemed a little different this year. the juice had almost no flavor, it was extremely hot, and the counselors were constantly emmbarassed.

But it's still the best camp in the world!

i can't wait for next year...
