Lego Conspiracy

Is Lego controlling the release of the leaked pictures in order to create hype on fansites?

I dunno, probably not.

But here's what they should do.

They should create these totally bogus sets and release them. All the people will see them and complain. Other companies will steal the idea and make their own. And then when Lego releases the new (real) sets, everybody is completely impressed and surprised, and the other companies try to sell their plastic junk.

Chances are people will think the fakes are horrible, but when they release the real ones people will be all "The fake 1s were better!!!!!"

Though people might not look at Lego if they believe they'll have bogus sets.

SO HA.

The only flaw in your plan is... everyone complains even if the pictures are real or not. Remember how everyone hated how the characters in MoL had hands? Nowadays having fully-functonal hands is a prized feature in sets.

Well, there have been faked "new set" pics in the past but these ones now don't seem to be.

Seriously, I know that the usual thing to observe is people whining about this and that in leaked pics, but 2009 is SO sweet, i think this year will be the exception.

As for if Lego is responsible for these leakes EVERY year, in EVERY wave... oh heck yeah.

I mean DUH, they put "early" images up on their own website, right there for anyone with RUDIMENTARY knowledge of what an address bar is to find.

And these things are always found quite quickly.

I must say, I rather enjoy their fake acting of shock, horror and bogus tears every time something new is leaked.

It's so not credible.
