10 Tips, Pt. 1! Subject: Artists!
And so begin's the series: 10 Tips to being an artist! There will be ten tips in this series, and later I'll do one on MOC'ing, then probably writing.
Tip #1: Before drawing a sketch or. . . well, drawing, make sure you draw a few preliminary sketches just to get the hang of drawing that character, or to design the specific parts of that character.
Tip #2: If you really get into drawing, consider buying a drawing table. They can be positioned at many angles, and can really help.
Tip #3: Never keep a pencil sharpener that opens on a slanted drawing table! They always end up as a mess on the floor .
Tip #4: Always keep your pencils sharpened. A dull pencil makes the lines way to wide and sometimes faded.
Tip #5: If you're going to use a pen, make sure you do it after you draw the outline in pencil. That's the bad thing about pens, you can't erase them.
Tip #6: Try to keep your curves smooth and clean.
Tip #7: As an add-on to tip #1, make sure that you do the sketches from different angles, so in the future you know all angles, not just one.
Tip #8: When drawing BIONICLE's, make sure that you don't make them too box-ish, or to rounded, unless the character calls for that. When overly-rounded, it can make the object look fat.
Tip #9: Make sure both feet are equally positioned.
Tip #10: Make sure you do a few light lines to show what position the object is going to be in. This can show you if that pose looks good before you actually start drawing.
Stay tooned for more 10-tip action.
