A Tip For Reviewing

Laka

This is just a quick little tip that might help your reviewing.

Don't review a MOC you like the second you look at it. You'll be more inclined to just say you like everything. If you wait a day or two and think about it more, you generally see what should be changed. By doing this, you should be creating a more useful review.

Exactly! Maybe not a day or two, but definitely look at it for more than a few minutes. Look at it for a minimum of five minutes, although even that is cutting it short.

I mean, I can think of countless MOCs where it's like 'whoa that's awesome! 1000000000000000/10!' but after I look at it, I see 'Hmm, I actually don't like that, and that, and that, etc.'

Very well put Kolok.

Eh, I say you look at it and then analyze all the pieces used in it. You can tell when they're using pieces creatively and if they should fix things that way.

Tis true. Sometimes I do wait a few days before I review something, but sometimes I just pop in, and look the MOC over, and then review.

I've found that the longer I spend thinking about it, the clearer my head is regarding it.

Fixed.

If that's what it takes to review a MOC well, I say it's worth it.

Well, the first one or two times I look at a MOC that I like, I'm blinded with love. It takes a while to clear my head.

I usually do the former with something I'm wowed by. The latter with MOCs I'm not wowed by.

Art and MOCs I never wait a few days. Writing I give a few read overs and then review.

Honestly, it really depends on the person.
