Putting A Few Things To Rest.

Okay, after having a talk with DX over Yahoo Messenger, he let me in on the fact that people on here/there appearently view me as... Uh... Deranged? I'm not sure exactly what that is about, but I'm here to lay some things down to help lift the viel. I'm not going to name anyone, but you know who you are.

1) Kativa is "A drama freak" .

Now, I'm not going to be stubborn and say that I'm not. I am a bit of an over-reacting person- but calling me a "drama freak" kinda offends me.

I have Aspergers Syndrome, guys. This, simply put, means my brain is hardwired differently then all of yours. I know it's not something visible, but I am different. If ten people looked at the same thing, chances are they'd have similiar logic in their opinions about. When I looked at said object, my response would probably be completely different. That's because my brain functions differently and I interperet, process, and think differently both because of mental conditions and some physical abnormalitys with my brain.

I'm not saying it's not my fault- but look, it's not like I'm spazzing out on purpose. Sometimes I am, but that's because I'm taking light of whatever situation it is OR trying to be funny and appearently failing miserabley.

And c'mon guys, of course I'm a little crazy- I spend most of my day in the house and away from other people with no one to talk to. Cut me some slack, I've got to cut loose somehow.

2) I'm a Necron *rude word*

Ouch, that hurts. I'm not going to nessecarily defend myself on that one- I am indeed obsessed with Necrons and robots in general. But c'mon, that's a mean word to be using for a guy who has never hurt anybody. Besides, we all have our obsessions, do we not?

I just happen to be a bit more...Uh, outward? Yeah, I'm more outward about my obsession. Again, take into account that I have almost no one to talk to in reality, and my rogue trader store where I can talk with other Warhammer enthusiasts is too far away to visit on a whim. I happen to chose Bzp as my place to socialize during the day and I just like Necrons. I'm allowed to enjoy it to full extent, right?

We all have interests guys, can you at least respect mine? Oh, and I know by saying this I'm guarenteed some comebacks by the fans who will take this as an advantage to press me , but don't bounce back at me about me ranting dislike towards TTGL. I am probably disrespectful towards it- but hey, I just happen to, uh, yeah- I hate it. But it's not like I'm attacking the fans themselves- I'm not calling Setsuna, Powah, and Wrack things like "TTGL *bad word" . So why are you guys calling me that? You don't have to like Necrons, but you don't need to talk smack about me because I like them.

3) I appearently make Janus' brain hurt.

...I dunno, you tell me, man- is that a good thing or a bad thing? 8/

4) I'm an athiest, baby-eating monster!

Okay, I'm going to tread lightly on this one because of the religion/politics related rules. Yes, I am an established athiest. No one has commented about me on this subject- yet. So I just want to get it adressed and out of the way quickly. So please, don't turn this part into an issue, I don't want any of us getting in trouble.

But please, I'm not sinister or hating against religous folk. We all have our beliefs, no? I mean, perhaps I get a bit careless when it comes to things like using the Lord's name in vain *okay, so I do it all the time and really don't give a flying fungus when I'm here on Bzp, but I'm more careful around my religious friends in reality* , but that's more because I just don't feel that it's a bad thing- it's not like I'm saying it just to offend Christians.

Basically, yes, I know that I've probably and unintentionally upset a few people here on Bzp because of my disposition towards religion- but please don't take it personal, I can still be friends with anyone of different race and belief.

Okay, it feels good to have finally gotten that out of the way.

I'm not saying you guys have to like me *although that is a shame because I want to be friends with all of you guys* or change your opinions about me, but I at least want you to understand that it's not like I'm a poser who is simply acting crazy and stuff to get peoples' attention. It's just who I am and I hope you all can understand and accept that.

Ditto, and woot for this blog entry. Good to get that stuff off your chest, huh?

Nah, I completely agree with what you're saying. Personally, I always love reading your blog because of the slight insanity. It's too boring being sane.

People can say all they want, but in the end, you're whatever you want to be.

Score one for independent thought!

I just would like to say I never said anything about you that would offend you in these ways. Even if you think differently, you're probably one of the most fun to talk to people around here and you can make a very interesting turn in a RPG, and I respect you for your ability to type out what you need to say without making it all confuzzling- like I tend to do (I make simple sentences the most confusing thing people have ever read)

I respect your interests, but then again I don't know nearly anything about Warhammer... more because I don't want to lose my soul to it...

Really? Nothing anyone has ever said to me about what I believe in has ever really hurt me. I don't give (as you put it) a Flying Fungus if other people (either accidentially, or with intention) insult my views, however if they bring up an intellectual conversation with questions I'll talk more because intellectual conversations aren't supposed to have name calling.

To me, what hurts ME most is insults, however I can simply not respond to them, and if I ever insulted you about anything period, I would like to say I didn't mean it as I don't remember ever doing so (well, that's why I said accidentially, but still) and if I ever do (this goes for everyone) feel free to report what I said as I would deserve a Moderator slap in the face.

Nah, I would deserve a crushing punch from B6.

These are just my own thoughts- only for me and not the generality of the site.

But still, I hope things get better.

I'd bet you half the people on this site who like Gurren Lagann don't even know what it is, and are just following a fad.

I think you're deranged, too, but in that friendly takes-one-to-know-one sense. =P

Seriously though, don't let what other people say get you down. Everyone else just sucks. =P

Well that just shows how much you know, Myself, Setsuna, Munkiman and Big Boss have all watched it. =3

Anyway, you're not exactly the one to talk, calling Yoko a loli of all things XD

Normally, I'd sting back for that- but yeah, I have to agree. Yoko is quite the polar opposite of a loli o,o

Despite the fact she's only 14 when the Anime starts?

Konata and the crew from Lucky Star are all 17 when the series starts, and they are deffffinitely loli.

It's about the style, not the specific age. = =;;

I may hate TTGL- but trust me Shard, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into. Yoko was a freak of nature when it came to puberty.

Is there a word for that? I don't see TTGL mentioning it.

Besides, I don't hate the show, I just dislike it. I mean, it's enjoyable to watch, but the unrealism, lack of secondary character development, and horrid mecha design.

Also, I will never watch Lucky Star. EVAR.

What? Loliphobic? I can understand, Wrack has made loli a term automatically linked with feelings of uncomfortableness.

Wow, fail.

Getting married and having kids isn't character development at all, is it? Losing your brother when you were angry at him because a girl you secretly liked loved him isn't character development at all, is it? Getting humiliated and becoming a creature of revenge then discovering that the one you swore to kill has been dead the whole time isn't character development at all, is it? Having enough courage to condemn yourself to a fiery death to protect the hero isn't character development at all, is it? Slowly going insane because of the illogical nature of your defeats then becoming crazed and frantic isn't character development at all, is it? Slowing transforming from a faithful companion to a paranoid dictator who only realizes his failure when the hero makes him look pathetic to everyone isn't character development at all, is it? The only people who didn't change are one-note characters who were too awesome to, like Beamspammer Attenborough and Gabal the Captain.

Unrealism? It's a bloody Super Robot show. made by Gainax. Even so, the whole 'GIANT DRILLS' thing should have tipped you off from the start. If that didn't, Kamina's sunglasses should have. And Yoko's bikini. And a ton of other stuff. However, the animation and raw emotion in every movement of the mecha, especially in the fight scenes, move in a very natural, beautiful way that is a joy to watch, and if that's the trade off for 'realism', then I'll take my 'Bobobobo-bobobo mecha' as you called them the last time you brought this up.

Finally, your opinion is that the mecha are hideous. My opinion is that they're beautiful and original, while still referencing the Super Robot genre that underpinned Japanese mecha culture from before the likes of Gundam. The King Kittan is wild and crazy, the Dyakkaizer is an awesome little tank of a mecha and a great reference to transformers, 'cuz it's actually almost identical to G1 Bombshell's head =P, the Dai-Gurren is a walking Battleship and fulfills this job accurately, the Enki is a great samurai-like mecha with nice curves, an oni-like face and awesome sword weapons, the Twin-Bokun is ridiculously cool, the Mugann types are great tron-like 3D enemies with a really interesting design, the Lazengann is like all the cool parts of Eva combined with other robots, and the Gurren-Lagann itself? It, and all its' incarnations, are simple, angular, strong, and Japanese. It's a Char-Custom Helmeted Shoulder-armoured Sword-Sunglasses wielding teeth gritting personification of manly spirit and courage.

That's what you don't understand. Gurren Lagann isn't a just a mecha show. It's not just an anime. It's an ode. It's an ode to Japanese childhood, to all those Super Robots and their courageous pilots, to the scary bad guy who was always muscular and strong, it's an ode to their television history, to the Super Robot Genre that they grew up with. It isn't about realism or plot or designs or which is better or going three-times as faster, it's about that message that children grew up with when they were young, their imagination brought back to life in this new way, to tell the story anew.

=( It's sad that it gets dragged through the mud like this.

Also, I will never watch Lucky Star. EVAR.

NO U.

Secondary character development. No one really changes until Kamina's death. And that seven year span to the future. And that's about it. Really, all the characters are Mary Sues. And Nia fails. The villains seem to have no sense of good, except Viral, Genome, and that Anti-spiral rep. The heroes almost have no darkness in them, except Simon. All characters lack depth.

Throwing galaxies. Kicking a spaceship out of the time-space continuum. Large drills. Sunglasses (<Reference to Bobobobobobo). The only thing that seems GAINAX about this is the horrible epilogue. The fight scenes are cheesy, especially Gurren-Lagann's flaming background. I'm glad there isn't very much shooting, but the good guys always win. Sure, there are losses, but the wins make up for it. Very unrealistic. Also needs more plot twists.

I really don't care much for the Super Robot 60's genre. CHEESY. It's not dark enough. The mecha have spice, but are ridiculous. Face mechs? Puny arms and legs? Dai-Gurren's ship skirt? No. No. NO! And Gurren-Lagann is blocky and reminds me of those Power Rangers Megazords. Also, Lazengann and Enki/Enkidu/Enkidudu have drooped shoulders.

And for your belief about Gurren Lagann's "epicness", UNREALISTIC. Gurren-Lagann is a cheesy show, where the small, week, humans take on the ultra-powerful, 100% pure evil bad guys, and win every time. Very predictable. It's good for the lil' kids and old men, but it does not match up with today's standards. Mary Sue always fails.

Return to Sender.

Of course they don't change, they just banded together, besides, not much even happens between then and the beginning. Nia does NOT fail. She's got courage. She was a plaything for the Helix King. A puppet. And then when she asked 'why?' she was locked in a box and left in a ditch to die. And what do you mean, no sense of good? Of course they won't, the beastmen were born with a sense of superiority over the humans, duh. They wouldn't be very good bad guys if they didn't. >.>

And you don't call the Main bad guy was actually trying to protect humanity by sealing them underground and the fact that there's actually a giant counter that records every human born of the surface and then turns the Moon into an Armageddon of ultimate utter death a plot twist?

Gurren-Lagann is a cheesy show, where the small, week, humans take on the ultra-powerful, 100% pure evil bad guys, and win every time. Very predictable. It's good for the lil' kids and old men, but it does not match up with today's standards. Mary Sue always fails.

This is why you don't get it. You didn't grow up with this stuff. I grew up with Transformers, Sentai, Kamen Rider, and so forth. This show is like a fantastic combination of those things. It means a lot to me. And since you don't care, you'll never understand it.

I'd take Gurren Lagann anyday over Gainax's other work, apart from FLCL, of course.

Oh, and I can go on, but I'm too amused by Kativa's crush on you =3

The cold wind blew beyond the gnarled oak. The boy stood, his tattered black robes hiding a soft, white face crowned with beautiful bright hair, his eyes shining in the sun. Behind him, drawn by the wind, stood a proud warrior, in armour crafted by far-off smiths. The helmet, a beastial mask crested with a long horn, crackled with ancient power as the warrior removed it, revealing a finely chiseled visage. The boy turned, his feminine features now damp as tears ran down his face. The wind howled louder, as the moment reached a climax.

"Zip-kun, I-"

They were interrupted as a maid fell out of the tree.

"Um, sorry, Mistress asked me to find her cat. I figured that since cats...go...up trees..." Stuttered the maid, who then ran off, knowing an obvious plot set-up when she saw it.

Forget arguing about shows, this is way more fun!
