I mean, his "facts" can be pretty funny, and he's been an undefeated martial artist before, but he is not very good at acting at all. What's the deal with him?

It's not like people think he's seriously super-human or anything, but people actually kind of make fun of him with Chuck Norris jokes. Don't know where they originated, but he's kind of used as an all-powerful being in pop culture-- especially websites and forums on the internet.

I think this blog entry by Aanchir might be good to look at, too =)

It actually kind of annoys me when I see people say "Stop making Chuck Norris jokes! He's not that good! He's not a superhero! These facts aren't true! D:< D:< D:<" and then get angry at the person who made the joke =P

You didn't do this though, I'm not actually pointing any fingers ;3

Well, how I see it, it's mainly due to how he's portrayed as some god-like entity in the films he stars in. In the film "The Delta Force", he doesn't even get a scratch, and is practically death incarnate.(if I remember correctly, he even runs through a concrete wall intact, and punches the terrorist leader across the room) So evidently, people are going to portray him like that on the internet, of all places.

 

That, and Chuck Norris is just plain awesome. x3
