Movie Night

Black Six

So I got an order in today from Amazon. Among other things, in it were Casablanca on HDDVD and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Two quite different movies that are both awesome in their own right. I just finished up the former and am watching the latter as I type this up.

Casablanca is, of course, a classic. It has so many lines that have become a part of our culture it's not even funny. "Play it again Sam, for old times sake." "Here's looking at you kid." "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

And then there's the story. It has the great historical setting, the love triangle, it as everything. Just a great movie overall. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime series, by which I mean it's the only anime I've ever really watched (unless you count Pokemon and Dragonball Z, which I watched a little back in the day). It has an absolutely amazing story with some very intriguing and mysterious characters. I love the way they develop over the course of the series. It has a very sad ending, but sometimes that's a good departure from the norm. The movie is just icing on the cake and a great way to give the fans more of what they love.

Anyone else a fan of good movies? :P

Oh man, I love old classic B&W movies :D. My absolute favourite is the 1951 rendition of A Christmas Carol. Alastair Sim gives a stellar performance as Scrooge. If you consider yourself a film fan and haven't seen it, you're missing out on something truly extraordinary.
