I just realized that I happen to laugh/chuckle at the parts in horror movies that are either supposed to sicken you (I mean by what a character does, and not like showing you a bucket of guts) or scare you.

I was smiling at the part in The Shining when man chases little kid with ax...

I want someway to make myself sure I'm not going to turn into a psychopathic killer when I grow up.

Yanno, Meaghan and I were laughing during the Shining too.

The part with the bat got us laughing.

Horror movies are pretty much 99% silly with 1% actually being horror. Oftentimes it's even less.

I'd like to stay at the hotel they filmed that. Every time a ghost hunting crew goes in there, they get SLAMMED with recordable evidence.

Kids running in the halls (when no kids are there) is the one that a lot of guests encounter, but it's also been caught on film where a sleeping patron had the drinking glass on the nightstand just SHATTER (outwards!) while he was asleep.

And the basement... you have walls that meld with roots of trees intruding from the back of the place, a nice setting for the "things" that taunt and laugh at people who bother to go down there.

Truth is way more scary than fiction.

It's always fun to do that.

"Ha ha, that guy's screwed. Whatever."

That's exactly what makes some zombie movies fun to watch.

Guy running down the street? 40 zombies running right behind him?

Do you gasp or do you laugh?

I always find it funny when people get hit by something and go flying through the air.

Am I supposed to be horrified by that?

"Now, stay down!"

Yeah, that's why Scary Movie is so great. Because they know it's ridiculous, when all the other directors seem to take it way too seriously to actually be serious.

Near death situations often makes one hysterical.

Not that horror movies are near death situations, but they amy be a connection. *Shrugs*
