Well I'm Stunned. Twice.

Well, I really pumped myself up before the contest officially opened to polls. I really thought I could win. Reall.y. My only fear was that people would see how good Magna's Kanohi Colour Convertor was and vote for him. God I'm selfish.

But then the polls happened. And I was stuck with Debrick. And I thought this would be fine, it's not even a video, should be good. Made me wonder why Forever Young was there, though. I didn't think much of it, voted for myself, but then doubts started to kick in.

And they kicked hard. Next day when I looked, I saw Debrick was winning. And looking at the final polls, I don't get it. Why do we have such fascination for anything BARELY related to Mp3 players or any iProducts. At least three such products got in. To top it all off, Debrick was flash, and as I touched on earlier, no one can beat flash. SPIRIT in AC#12b clealy showed that (but that was really funny, we all admit that). And sure, Debrick is very well designed and very flashy and nice, but I'm not convinced it can be put in the 'other' category. If you think about it, it is really Computer Art, only spiced up by the thing plays music and has pop up things. I dunno, that's just my thoughts

Sorry, I really didn't want to be accusing this entry, but that's where most of my frustrations lie. So, he won that poll, and is set to be one of the leaders in the Final Poll. Fair enough, I can take that. But this is something weird. In the Product creativity poll in that prelim topic, not only did an Mp3 player came first (which is not especially useful for Matoran who can't use Mp3), but Matoran Spheres (my entry) came first. FIRST! What is wrong with you all? CLEARLY I didn't actually CREATE my product even. Urgh. Polls just mess up my head. Thanks for the support though. tongue.gif

And I am truly surprised I got into the finals, when I first heard it was 25% of the vote I thought I was screwed. But when Pohuaki further explained, I was stunned I got through. Really. Not that it will make any difference.

OK, so now the Final Polls are up. I'm not convinced that these polls are impressive as some of the final polls in the past. And the 'other' category is really all over the place (but what do you expect). What I want to get to is, please, DO NOT VOTE MATORAN SPHERES UNLESS YOU GENUINELY BELIEVE THAT IT IS THE BEST IN THE POLL. Personally, I encourage all to vote for the Kanohi Colour Convertor because I believe it shows the most effort put in. It is amazing how good the quality of stop motion is used there. But yes, when you place your votes, use your heads.

One last thing I think. Pohuaki, I really respect you, you are easily one of the best and most hard working staff members on BZP, but I really must say that putting Forever Young in that poll was a terrible idea. It should be applauded for being a completely different form of media, and clearly would fit more in a Computer Assisted poll. I think. But you get my point.

Yes, I am frustrated. That's what happens when you pump up your ego. It ultimately has to deflate.

The Seventeenth Magazine I got features the LEGO themes Star Wars, Jack Stone, Harry Potter, Alpha Team, BIONICLE and Spiderman. It is December 2002.

N.B. Oh, forgot to say last time. Notice the change in logo? No longer 'World Club Magazine', just 'magazine'. Oh the horror.
