Fun With Adverbs
In theory, an adverb can be formed by adding the "-ly" suffix to any adjective. Examples include "happy" > "happily", "weird" > "weirdly", etc.
So I've been having fun with some very strange adverbs.
- uglily
- bluely
- sugarily
- scaredly (not an odd word really, but it wasn't in the dictionary)
- Communistically
- left-to-rightly
- "He uglily crept down the hallway."
- "The depressed man trudged bluely across the street."
- "The three-year-old bounced sugarily around the room."
- "He peered scaredly at the open door."
- "Stalin seized control Communistically."
- "He walked to the street and peered at it left-to-rightly."
