Pikmin Rpg 3: It's Coming...

Toa Neya

With the closing of the finale of the second Pikmin RPG, it comes time to design...

3!

Yes, Pikmin RPG 3 is coming.

Players from the first and 2nd RPGs can come here to check the TBRPG's progress.

I think we have an idea basically laid out. (I made it, and we've all been having discussions by PM. I'm posting it so we can have a 4-way dialogue about it.) So far, all of the moderators (and Exo-Fat himself) seem to approve of it, so that's why I'm posting this idea here.

And here it is!

-We could just get rid of 2 altogether and make 3 continue from where 1 left off. That way, we can get rid of all of the ridiculous-ness of PRPG2. Characters from 2 could still exist, only in an alternate universe.

For example: Thing is the result of an ancient evil (it launched a meteor) on the Pikmin world that caused human wipeout, and more minions of ancient evil reveal themselves.

Meanwhile, Hocotatian scientists and Olimar noticed the ancient evil (a threat, considering the President's planned tourist industry is now in jeopardy,) have developed a cure for the evil, and launch a white meteor to the planet as part of the cure while sending Hocotatians (the new alternate chars) down to help the Pikmin. Hocs can't get infected or go Pikmar, but minions take Hoc-like form (kind of like those shadow bug clones of various characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, like the giant Dark Diddy Kong, that Dark Bowser, Dark Peach, Dark Zelda, you get the picture.) and work like them.

The evil gives some Bulborbs sentience, but all escape before getting infected. Thus faction 3: Bulborbs, and characters from 2 can continue to manifest themselves in that way.

Thus 3 factions: Good guy Pikmin/Hocotatians, Dark Pikmin/Minions, and Bulborbs. Not too many, and not too few. Creatures are still rewards. Conversions can be 2-way. NOBODY WHO DIED IN RPG 2 DIES, pretty much. And Hocotatians who were infected in RPG 1 aren't infected. So Orion and Tsorag (I'll change her name to Amakon) are good guys, and a minion character based on Tsorag's evil form can be on that side.

And Shade might not have to come back.

Hocs and Minions get Olimar-like gameplay (and "good guy" versions of the Seeds of Corruption suits, just for kicks,) Bulborbs get "eat them all" team gameplay, and Pikmin characters get their gameplay they had in 1.

The story becomes more Pikmin-like, as players get to use similar gameplay to the Pikmin games. (We can say that Olimar had a faulty translator and he really said that help was on the way.)

And we still get to implement more Bulborbs.

How about that?

Neya Darkaea Unleashed! :voyanui:

Well, yeah. Anyways, let's dialogue about this! (So we can hopefully get a cohesive RPG going by the time this entry is done.)

Oh, and as soon as some people reply to my PMs, we can say the various sub-ideas we've been coming up with. They will be up soon.

well, I personally like the command leading thing. It really brings back the feeling. I think we should add food points or something; meaning each onion should go out to get food to survive. And we should have each char belong to an onion. An Onion Organization system, which I'll explain if you like.

Link to comment

Perhaps. Explain.

Also, I'm using this entry as a means of us all formulating the next RPG and what it will be like.

So by the end of this entry we will have formed a decisive RPG to send to the Approval topic.

Here are a few ideas of my own (more coming soon):

New Bulborb types:

Green: A faster Bulborb, colored green with a cyan head and lime spots.

Blue: A more durable Bulborb, colored blue with a magenta head and teal spots.

Emperor Bulblax (Sentient): The Ancient Evil gave quite a few members of the grub-dog family intelligence, and the Emperor Bulblax was no exception. (Granted, they were made in fewer numbers, but they are still formidable.) Reward only, like Gold and Death Pikmin.

Once again, they're prototypes.

Hocotatian suits:

Red- same as before

Yellow- same as before

Blue- Same resistance, but ice pellet gun replaced with a snow maker to chill foes and temporarily blind them.

White- Same resistance, but with transquilizer guns with darts that must be replaced every so often.

Purple- same as before

Black- same as before

Green- Same suction cups, but whip replaced with grappling claw (can also grab Dark Pikmin)

Orange- A new suit with no resistances but with a life force detector (to sense other beings' presence) and limited telepathy (to detect the movements of a foe.)

Silver- A new suit with camouflage powers (though a blur can still be slightly seen) and a sword. No resistances.

Platinum- A new suit that denotes importance, grants huge resilience, partial resistance to all attacks other than melee combat and explosions, and looks cool, besides. Reward only, like Golds, Deaths, sentient Emperor Bulblax, and their minion counterpart coat.

Minions get different colors of "shadow coats" based on the Hocotatian suits as well: Crimson, Dark Yellow, Indigo, Gray, Dark Purple, Jet Black, Hunter Green, Dark Orange, Tarnish, and Dark Platinum.

Pikmin to cut out of 3:

Teal: Never actually got a major role.

Balloon: Ridiculous and never got a major role.

Rule ideas:

-No switching sides without permission.

-If one faction is getting WAY more members than any other faction, the staff are allowed to temporarily ban new members of that faction until the time when the factions are more balanced.

So yeah...let's all post our ideas right now.

The evil could be the reason we have death pikmin :???: . And those lion-pikmin.....

Anyways, the evil can be some kind of factory created by an unknown sentient species.

While we're doing this, remember to keep the Pikmin Topic alive. It almost died before I saved it.

Death Pikmin could be the result of two evils that have allied.

I actually think if we just leave the evil a jet black, giant Onion that spawns "minion seeds," then have it morph into bosses every so often to add flavor to the RPG, and slowly reveal itself until about 3/4-7/8 through the RPG, when it fully reveals its identity, we could do that: It gives us like 4 to 20+ memos to think about whatever it's supposed to be.

BTW, my boss idea:

Bosses: Bosses are various monsters, creatures, and machine that appear so often, upon which the members of 2 factions will attempt to defeat it, while the third remains neutral or aids the boss. There are 3 kinds:

-Monster Bosses: Monsters are actually powerful forms assumed by the Evil that generated the Thing. The Hocotatians/Pikmin and the Bulborbs fight against it, but the Dark Pikmin/Minions aid it. They tend to occur every 4-6 memos.

-Machine Bosses: Machines are powerful devices built on Hocotate and shipped to the Distant Planet, where they are unleashed to defeat the other factions. Bulborbs and Dark Pikmin/Minions fight against it, but Hocotatians/Pikmin aid it. They tend to occur every 3-6 memos.

-Creature Bosses: Sometimes, a giant creature will park itself on the battlefield and decide to make the field its domain. They don't prey on Bulborbs (in fact, on some occasions they are good defenses for the Bulborb armies,) and thus the Bulborbs tend to act neutrally towards them or even defend them, but the Hocotatian and Minion forces have it high on their priority list to stop them, considering the havoc they wreak on their own forces. They tend to appear every 3-5 memos.

Sounds good, and I`ll offer my services of story writing for this one.

I wasn`t too involved with the second RPG, but it was kinda ridiculous, so everything that happened there should be considered non-canon

But there is one big problem, IMO. The lack of Dark players. In the previous RPG`s way too many people chose the normal Pikmin, leaving the Darks a bit..... outnumbered. I suggest we set a maximum number of normal players, once it`s full, new members must choose a Dark Pikmin.

One thing that could be interesting to do, is to explore where the "things" came from. The origin of the Darks. Maybe an advanced race that created them???

Just throwing some ideas out there, if you need me on the team.

I think we need Shade. What good is a Pikmin RPG without Shade? Answer: Mediocre

Well, if I am going to give up my RPG dreams, I want to have Shade.

I'm writing up a retelling of the ending of the original with some changes.

How about Shade is revived by the Ancient Evil, and is fused to it, becoming a super-villain! >8D

'Course I'm ditching him as a PC, but have him be an evil player. It will just go to show.....................................

Do your *annoying* thing Neya! Did so in my latest entry.

When it has been decided on, PM to me, so that I may post it and gain control as master! MWAHAHAHAHA!

Who's the tough guy now Exo? :P

Or it could be some sort of giant fungi that attached it self to the ground and acts like an onion?

Why does Shade always find away to become powerful? (Not dissing him or anything)

@ Neya: Do you have any idea when your going to make it and get it approved?

I already have a perfect character for this Rpg for if/when it comes out.

Well, Shade was the only one who showed that he would go to any lengths to get what he wants, even teaming up with Creeper if he had to. He also showed he would kill anyone who got in his way, like when he killed his own men and others.

He deserves his chance to shine.

Well, I still say we should go with the onion organization code... The bomb-pikmin guys should go. They make me sick... Shadow pikmin...well...

We should have light pikmin, with golden leaves or buds or flowers. They have a gold pikmin resistance, and can become half pikmin... Dark and light hybrids.

We should bring the hybrids in, RPers are going to want to be them, since Vakzorz is one. We also need a dark version of the Aqua pikmin.

Trench Pikmin:Pikmin who have a higher sensitivity to water disturbances. They can only breath water, but can hold their "breath" on land for a half-hour. They are vicsious, and are like sharks. Their flower glows like an Angler Fish's.

Pink evil version:Magenta:There berries are blood-red, and can poison all who eat them. They can burst if thrown like a water ballon, spilling its poisonous substance on the target, which is then absorbed into the skin, and kills.

The hawk pikmin should lose the beak; not very pikmin-like... Perhaps four teeth like the parasite pikmin but they stick out together like a beak. But not a true beak... -_-

I CAN HAS GOLD PIKMIN AND STORY?

Noobism aside, i believe we should all agree on a story part before posted.

and please can i write a teaser?? I'm dying to do one... Please? :begging:

Just two little tiny things I forgot to mention.

1. I'm going to go ahead and try to get my RPG approved.

2. If I can't get my RPG approved, I will work with this one. If I do, I will still be around to visit and check up on things, have Shade or my new charrie make his presence felt.

That is all.

What's your planned RPG??

Or better yet Neya, we could have the hocos come, saying they are the real ones. So its still the same universe, just minions faking.

Btw, your blog rocks.

Can I has that death pikmin? I promise to make him the greatest villian there is.

Ha! He'll never be Shade, nor will he be able to match up against -Character Name Removed-.

Just check the RPG Request Topic to see my RPG.

This new character of mine could be the most cold hearted, sadistic character there is in this game. Not insane, but smart. There will be a twist with this character though. And he will be the only pure bad guy, besides Haze.
Link to comment

Are you sure? -Character Name Removed- will be more violent, more sadistic, and even more evil than Shade. Let me give you a little hint:

- He kills his own allies.

- Shows no emotion when killing.

- He scares even Shade.

- He is possibly the only one that has beaten Shade in a one-on-one fight without resorting to fighting dirty. Stealther couldn't beat Shade; Splash didn't beat Shade alone; not even Creeper or Nameless could beat him.

The first three reasons describe *** too. Except he has done the following:

-Started a war between the pikmin and the Bulborbs, with help. This happened along time ago.

-He never smiles, even though there is a smile covering his face.

-He's sort of a canable(Sp?)

-More to come later.

Hmm...all good ideas.

I'm planning to submit it as soon as we have a cohesive plot, rule system, and the rest of the stuff for the RPG laid out.

Okay, first, the story: You've already seen my idea. Can anybody else submit a new cohesive sub-idea? (we've pretty much all agreed on my idea.)

(I can't believe how popular this topic has gotten.)

Neya Darkaea Unleashed! :voyanui:

EDIT: No way is anybody going to be making Super Smash Sadistics. Sure, it's the exact opposite of last RPG, but that's just it: If everybody's competing to see who has the most sadistic character, we once again go into the flatness that starkly marked 2, only in reverse: We make too many Uber-evil gangsters, and as a result: Exo yells again about why the RPG isn't "Pikmin" enough, and thus we either have to start up 4 or call it quits.

Shade and the Evil should be the limit. Even Deaths have a sense of honor, no matter how weak. Shade can play people all he wants. The Evil gets to cannibalize Minions if he likes to gain strength. THAT'S THE LIMIT, please.

Link to comment

That confused me even more.

I want Shade to still be evil, but have an enemy in the form of -Character Name Removed-. I'm so confused... My new character was originally to have taken the role of Shade in the Second RPG. You know what?

Shade will die.

Or I could take him. New character isn't quite Shade-level evil, but he's definitely closer the bottom of the slippery slope.

I was saying that we don't want to many overly sadistic characters or the RPG once again goes flat, somebody starts complaining about how "it isn't Pikmin enough," to which I would agree, and then we have to start working on 4.

You mean how to branch off? Well, we should start with a huge rap-up, something i think we should do. Perhaps a story part, with a hidden mission-explanation inside. If not, then I have another idea.

1) We had finally stock-piled enough troops to begin a small city. This city will become a stronghold, where we can fight. Basically, they find out about it, and we have to keep it from being destroyed until we have enough troops gathered to repel the Darks back.

Link to comment

 Neya! Can you discuss my ideas like they might be worth something?

Basically, the Onion Organization program provides a list of onions with their species, number of pikmin, and faction they belong to. Plus leader.

Ex:

Onion Name: Aurora

Faction: Pikmin Nomads

Leader: Splash

Number of Pikmin: 226

Pikmin species: Aqua

Characters belong to:

.:Hihkan:.

Noob136

You

You get the point. Why? Well, it can stop RPers pulling onions with alot of pikmin out of the rears. When we are deciding what onion to put out, we can find them and put them to use. Also, when a number of pikmin die in an onion (NPC), we subtract them. As well, we can have food stocks for each one; making the RPG more realistic.

Link to comment

...Then again...we don't want the RPG to get so complex nobody pays attention.

Still, a variant could work with things like Hocotatians and Pikmin: They would get 1-5 Onions of Pikmin species to choose, and then they could use those to battle, Pikmin game-style. (With a few modifications for each new species.)

Then, for individual Pikmin players, we could introduce the same thing we did in the first RPG. I guess we could do an Onion system...perhaps then we could do it so Pikmin from RPG 1 could also end up with Hocotatian characters. (But simpler...honestly, food? )

And BTW, all old stuff for a sequel to 2 are scrapped. No more Pikmin Nomads. Just Good guys (Hocs, Light Pikmin,) Minions (Dark Pikmin, Minions,) and Bulborbs.

Anyways,
