Help Me With My Map

Toa_Ausar

I'm currently working on a FanFic Map of the Matoran Universe and I'd like to open this thread for thoughts and suggestions, from anyone and everyone who feels obliged to post, on how I might improve this draft before moving on and adding in the outlines of various islands and ultimately coloring the entire project.

Anyway, feel free to provide any sort of constructive criticism you deem appropriate. It can be about anything from the overall shape of the cartograph, to the placement of specific domes, to the orientation of the domes, or maybe even the passageways between various domes.

I don't know, so you tell me what needs to be fixed? :notsure:

It's a nice idea and concept, I'll give you that. However, I still dislike the "Universe Mata Nui," as I have said before. If I were making the map, I would kill the Mata Nui outline and do the map without it.

Okay, so I've begun the tedious process of shifting the Northern Continent and the surrounding Domes to the left, meanwhile I plan on bringing in the Arms a bit and lengthening the Legs. :D

I don't think it's reasonable to remove the outline because then we can't tell where there's room for future creative expansion. ;)

Anyway, that's where I'm at, is there anything else?

Toa_Ausar:

Just a couple more things, sorry.

First, you *might* want to minimize his head size. The size interpretation of Mata Nui in both Comic and CGI Forms don't put too much mass into it. ;)

Next, the arms. They aren't as broad as you have depicted and the "Armpits" of Mata Nui should be a little farther in. :D

Lastly, it looks like he's gone on a steady diet of McDonalds, probably to get the new Mistika toys. Try to feed him a salad, mkay? :P

Okay, so I still need to elongate the Legs and I'm planning on modifying the shape of the Hands as well, but I've finished moving the Dome of Northern Continent to the left. :happydance:

The Head's size was indeed a bit off, so I've made it a bit taller and thinner, and the Dome of Metru Nui was a bit large as well, so I adjust that too. ;)

I brought in the Arms several inches each, as well as lowered the Shoulders, and therefore had to reduced the width of the Midriff as well.

Oh, and it isn't from McDonald's, but in truth is a result of that blasted Colonel's Eleven Secret Herbs & Spices. Even the Great Spirit craves it fortnightly. :P

I only have to comment on making sure that everything is good with the creators of the Domes. I saw the Kaiva Nui arguement in the last batch of Articles, and it would be best if everyone goes along with what Roa McToa says (as well as what GregF says).

That's all I have to say.

Hmm... I didn't know that KFC made "Great Spirit" sized buckets of chicken...? My Dome's soooo small, thanks to Arizona Lemon Iced Tea. ;)

Also, Toa_Ausar, I'm having a dilema; You see, I've been thinking about my BIONICLE collection. I'd like to have a collection of all of the sets, from 2001-2009+. Unfortunately, I'd also like to MOC. I've guessed as to what you do, but am unsure. How exactly do you keep your collection? :???:

BioGio, we're all alright, no ill will here at all. :) I was simply just making sure that Toa_Ausar knew about Kaiva Nui's original placement. ;) As for him and ~Ballom~, I think that there was just a slight misunderstanding, and they are okay now. :D

Personally, I think that Toa_Ausar likes to keep as close to the storyline as possible, while ~Ballom~ doesn't like the way the story goes. As for me, I think that the storyline is simply okay now, but I find creative ways to bend the rule a little, as to not destroy the story rules. ;)

I am indeed very pro-Canon Storyline, meanwhile my partner is at times less than thrilled with the Official developments. :shrugs:

Anyway, the map has been revised and will be up for vote in the next C.I.R.C.L.E. session. :fonz:

Next, they certainly do have Universe-sized Meal Deals, and you thought a 16-piece bucket was expensive. :dazed:

Oh, and as far as my collections goes I buy and trade for all of my MOCing parts and keep at least one of every set intact in my collection. ;)

I noticed. :P

Wait, how does Mata Nui pick up the chicken then? :shrugs: It's like us trying to pick up a dust mite!

How do you store your collection? (i.e. shelves, cabinets, etc.)

You seem to be forgetting that KFC stands for "Kentucky Fried Chocobo" in the BIONICLE Universe. :P

I typically display all of my Sets & MOCs on bookshelves, meanwhile my yet-to-be-utilized pieces are all sorted and stowed in various plastic bins awaiting their turn. (I may take some pictures of this soon, let me first tidy up a bit, and then that you can have a better idea of what I'm describing.)

As far as how I acquire many of my BIONICLES, well I do get a great many via trading here on BZPower, however you'll find the real key to my success described here. :lookhere:

"Kentucky Fried Chocobo"? Bringing Final Fantasy into this, eh? :P

Never really caught onto it.

Well, I've decided to try that out. I've begun to completely re-construct all of my sets and put them on some shelves in my room. :D

However, I must ask: Does that mean you've been getting a bunch of every BIONICLE set since 2001? I mean, I would've honestly love that, but to believe that's been happening every Christmas for over 8 years? Unreal, but hey... :P Lucky.

Still, how do you get assorted pieces for MOCs? Surely you don't have a store in Salem that sell the Roboriders still, do you?

Well me and you are different when it comes to geting sets. I buy my sets with my own money and get some extra when it comes to christmas and birthdays but i get unbionicle-related things aswell though this year i may just get more extras than i usually get because i dont know what to get thats not bionicle-related for my birthday

Final fantasy? never been a fan of it, always thought it was rubbish

I never really got into Final Fantasy either, I simply know that the primary mount in the series is a horse-sized chicken, thus it seemed fitting that a Great Spirit might choose to eat a much larger fowl. :shrugs:

I've been getting several of each set since the Rahkshi went on clearance for just $1.99/each at my local "Target" back in April of 2004 and I've really utilized my Trade Topic, most notably to exchange Barraki that I got on sale for just $3/each in January of 2007 at my local "Big Lots", for multiples of the earlier sets sot that I could make their Kaita, as well as gather spare parts for MOCing. Occasionally I buy things on BrickLink when I can't seem to trade for what I'm looking for, but not every often.

But what does all this have to do with my map? :???:

Horse-sized chicken... Very interesting... :D

I think that questions were some questions burning in our minds for a while that we got answers for. :P

Oh, and good news! :) I went to Hunington today to get my new bank account set up, and sure enough, I did! :happydance: The best part is that my dad was gracious enough to put $100 in the account, so that makes me happy. :happydance: The card will get here in 7-10 days. ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses BrickLink. I felt really alone, since we can't really talk about it because it has forums. :glare:
