Well, we never used to celebrate it, but marketeers decided to import it, due to the popularity of American cartoons and sitcoms, which always have Halloween episodes. Given everyone now knows what Halloween is, it was used as a clever way to have us spend more money. Although I admit, having consumers spend more money is good for the economy in general.

I just wish we would celebrate the traditional Samhain instead of its current-day counterpart, Halloween.
