Dear Dustin,

Congratulations! You have been accepted as a member of the Class of 2013 at Centenary College. I hope that you are as excited about this good news as we are about having you join us for the 2009-2010 year.

As you know, Centenary prides itself on building a lively intellectual community with students like you at the heart of everything we do. We've selcted you for admission because we believe that you will enjoy the personalized opportunities we offer and embrace our distinctive experieces. We believe you have the character and talent that will fit right in here and also help strengthen our community.

The Scholarship Committee has also reviewed your file. Based on your credentials, the Committee has selected you to be a recipient of a Centenary Academic Award in the amount of $10,000. This award will be automatically renewed for an additional three years so long as you are enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.5 grade point average. And this is in addition to any TOPS scholarship you receive. At Centenary, your TOPS award remains valid: you receive that plus your Centenary Academic Award.

(blah, blah, blah, FAFSA stuff, blah, blah, blah)

Please return to us by May 1, 2009, the enclosed Acceptance Agreement and non-refundable deposit of $200. The agreement and deposit will reserve your space in the entering class.

Dustin, welcome to Centenary College.

Sincerely,

Tim Crowley

Dean of Admissions

So I had nothing better to do than type my acceptance letter. Nevertheless, I'm pretty excited.

Where is that?

Only a 2.5? Geez, either that's a hard school or they don't have very high expectations for you. :P I have to maintain a 3.0 (I currently have a 3.25).

It's right in town.

Centenary was mentioned in the Princeton Review as one of the top 368 universities in the nation. Newsweek/MSNBC also mentioned Centenary as one of the "25 Hottest Schools in US", so if that answers any questions, then whatever.
