Metroid Prime And Metroid Prime 2: Echoes On Wii?

Apparently, Nintendo is realeasing several GameCube games for the Wii with revised controls. This series is called "New Play Control!". The games they are re-releasing are: Chibi-Robo, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Mario Power Tennis, and most importantly, METROID PRIME, and METROID PRIME 2: ECHOES! :smeag:

The Metroid Prime re-releases feature control schemes similar to that of Metroid Prime 3 (using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, obviously).

I already have the GameCube Metroid Prime, and I have been considering getting a used Metroid Prime 2, but I guess I will wait and get both of these if they are released for in the US (they better, or I will be MAD). The only thing I can hope for is the Fusion suit function in the Wii version.

Yeah, they gotta release them here. They can't stop with just rereleasing Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin. D:

Also did you hear about the new MP game coming out? Supposedly you play as a Space Pirate.

These rereleases sound pretty cool. I've played Metroid Prime 3 but I missed out on the other two since I didn't have a Gamecube. But what new game is Cholie talking about? It sounds interesting since you play as a Space Pirate.

I heard of that Space Pirate thing too, but the source I read it from stated that it may just be some kind of other thing, not a game. Or something like that.

You don't need a GameCube to play GameCube games. All you need is a Wii, GameCube controller, and preferably a GameCube memory card.

Yeah, I know, but I'm missing the controller, games, and memory card >.<

Anyways, I like the controls of Metroid Prime 3. Some say they are stupid controls, but every shooter on Wii is designed pretty much like that. I beat it, after a lot of hard work, and I loved the game. I got sore arms from holding my arm in the same aiming postion all the time though.

Yeah. I don't have Corruption. >.> But I've played a friend's, and I plan on probably buying it from him sometime soon. Speaking of which, I got my Metroid Prime from a different friend for only $7.50. =D

About sore arms: one of my friends had sore arms from swinging the Remote while playing Twilight Princess.

One of the things I like about Metroid Prime that Corruption doesn't have is the interchangeable beam weapons, whereas (I think) the beam in Corruption just adds to the regular beam (like Zero mission or Fusion, both of which I beat with 100% and are awesome).

I spent about half of my money from last year buying a GameCube controller, Memory Card, and several games (about April to July).

Tell me more about the new game where you play as the Space Pirate. It sounds interesting. I didn't see anything on Wikitroid, but I'm curious about this.

Except that you play as a Space Pirate.

Sounds like a another gift from the rumor mill. Could be legit if we could find some more info.

So, what, it's like a book or a comic that centres around a Space Pirate's story? There was a Metroid manga a while back.

That would be cool, getting to play as a Pirate. Or maybe another hunter, like Sylux?

Anyway, I've played and beat both Metroid Prime and Echoes, but I still need to play Corruption. I'll get to it eventually...

Hm, you're right, doesn't say anything about it being a game. I got hyped and forgot. =/ Though it calls it "another side story", like it's comparing this new thing to Hunters. Still, that doesn't say much.

And the Wii Primes shouldn't hurt your arm too much, or at least not as much at TP. you only need to move your arm a little, especially if you're not very close to the screen.

If it's a game, it might be some kind of expansion story that gets tacked on to Corruption. The Wii has those downloadable Wii Ware games, but it could be a seperate standalone disc like Halo 3 Recon's going to be. It could be DLC for Corruption, like GTA 4: The Lost and the Darned.
