I saw it yesterday. It was great, IMO. Though, I can certainly understand why it's called graphic. Definitely not a movie I'd want to see with my parents around.

I read the graphic novel years ago. I didn't buy it then, either -- borrowed it from the public library. :pirate:

The best movie based on a comic book that I've ever seen, that's for sure.

 

The violence was, yeah. . . definitely explicit. But the same goes for the book -- it just has that much more impact in moving picture form.

 

I'm wondering if this movie has any chance of achieving the same level of penetration of the mass consciousness as Dark Knight did. . . Probably not. Shame.

LOL, I've never understood what's so grown-up about gratuitous sex and violence. "Adult movie" is such a bad euphemism.

 

The "mature" content in Watchmen didn't bother me. The director made the choice to show things that others might have glossed over -- for instance, the realistic consequences of violence. In a way, that's a more responsible route to take than sanitizing it for the sake of younger audiences.
