I wouldn't say it's necessarily Nuva now. It does depend on destiny, and the BS01 "energized protodermis" article says that the intelligence inside the substance only tends to transform something if it is intrigued enough by the experiment. I doubt Vezon's random appearance counts as "intriguing."
