Or you just can't pin it down? There's a lot you can write about, I remember writing a similar essay a couple years back. How about family, friends, food, nature, etc...

No, it's more being able to stay on-topic for 500 words.

500 words isn't too bad, specially on this stuff. What you're thankful for...are you leaning toward materialistic things or stuff you enjoy (music, beatles, art talent, etc), or stuff like a family or whatever? It's usually best to choose a topic, then work on become more specific and how you want to convey it.

I was thinking about doing an essay on my thankfulness for my Artistic Talent... d'you think that'd work?

True, 500 words isn't all that much. I've tripled that in a review for an MOC. =P

But, what is this artistic talent you speak of, and why haven't I seen it? I think I need a link to one of your topics...

If you write about your artistic talent, why not thank those people that inspire you as well, that usually is good.
