7 Things Cheaper, 7 Things More Expensive.

There was an article on MSN today. Go there to read all the actual mumble jumble about consumer choices and belt tightening and overall statistics about economic stuff that is probably mostly made up. Or not, its just those econ things really annoy me.

Anyway, it was a list of seven things that are getting pricier, and seven things that are getting cheaper.

Houses cheaper.

Food more expensive.

Electronics cheaper.

College tuition more expensive.

Green alternative energy sources cheaper.

Gasoline (and oil) more expensive.

Toys cheaper...

WAIT!

No, no, Lego has been getting progressively more expensive, for various reasons that have been backed up on BZP before in various argument topics. But I guess if Lego wants to join the bandwagon and lower their prices, they've got to change their ways. Cheaper plastic (even cheaper than lime green) toxic parts, viral bugs in their software that drains your bank account. Those things will undoubtedly decrease Lego's shelf prices.

Well, I'm going to ignore reality for a little longer and go back to my studies...

Um, gas is actually about $2.00 cheaper than in August... ?

OK, you think gas is cheap now, but that's just because we all rode the roller coaster of last summer's high prices and then watched prices drop to 2003 levels. Higher prices are coming back, and when they do, so will the higher costs of all goods and services associated with them. That includes just about everything.

Consumer Price Index data show the price of gasoline was down 40% in January from the previous year, but it was up nearly 6% from December to January. As this week began, the national average was just above $2 a gallon.

So fasten your seat belts: The gas surplus is being depleted, and even though the price of oil is hovering around $50 a barrel, you're going to see some numbers flipping at your local station.

I don't really notice gas that much since I'm living within walking distance from school, but just because gas isn't at a record high right now doesn't mean it won't go back that way during peak season.

Gas was at about $1.63 a gallon before it suddenly ran up the hill at a high rate of speed, laughing insanely.

Then it stepped down to like, $2.15 or so, but it's at $2.29 now.

This is all in Seattle of course. XD
