Owch. Kinda like how the average for my class's maths tests was forty-something %, and I basically got an A as a result.

Call me stupid, but how does grading without use of a curve work? Does it work along the lines of "if you get so-and-so %, you get this grade"?

The average for most of my science / math classes in college have been somewhere in the 50s... it's like the class is out to fail you, but you're graded by how badly you fail compared to everybody else...
