I love movies. I really do.

 

And I love happy endings, and whatnot. But I think there's one thing sorely missing in movies. Maybe this makes me less of a good person, but movies where the antagonist 'succeeds' or wins would be fun. Just for a change of pace.

In modern times, the closest thing we have to a film of that caliber is Revenge of the Sith, but the overall redemptive theme of the saga kind of waters down the evilness.

 

In Hitchcock's Vertigo, the bad guy does escape, and the protagonist is left in a horrible situation. I'd reccomend it. Great movie.
