What program do you use?

Sketchup for modelling, Kerkythea for rendering.

Never got the hang of 3DS Max and the like, as they're less intuitive than GIMP or Photoshop.

Really should take time to try that. I've been using 3DS for the last year or so, and still don't know all that much.

Sketchup'll take like a couple of minutes to figure out. It's pretty much the third most intuitive program ever, after MS Paint and Notepad.

Reminds me of Prisoner.

Probably because it's modelled over a copy of Prisoner's BSP, so as to get all the proportions right. I'm remaking Prisoner as a Covenant facility.

Prisoner's BSP

Wait, BSP as in a Source map file? Do other games use that extension?

I doubt they use the actual .bsp extension, Halo for one uses .scenario_structure_bsp. BSP stands for Binary Space Partition, which pretty much means the area within which stuff exists in a game, it isn't limited to Source or Blam!. When I use BSP in relation to Halo, I'm referring to the level geometry itself, devoid of everything else.
