Weekly Update - 6/5
Intro
Seven days have come and gone. It is time once again for our Weekly Update. Read on!
Updates
This week was pretty busy. If you're a videogame fan E3 took place, which meant a lot of announcements and new games to look at. But if you're a LEGO fan there was some news too. Two new games were announced, LEGO Indiana Jones 2 and LEGO Harry Potter, and we got a new look at LEGO Rock Band.
Of course, one of the biggest stories was that the Glatorian have begun appearing in stores and are available online at Toys 'R' Us' website. I think that means it's officially summer! We should have our first set review up this weekend. Guess who it is?
Speaking of new sets, we got our first look today at a set we had never even heard of before except in rumors: the Titan version of Toa Mata Nui. He's been compared a lot to last year's Takanuva in terms of scale and construction, and basically looks like a big version of the canister-sized set. So far the reaction has been mixed, but we'll see what happens when people start getting their hands on it.
In other LEGO news, everyone's favorite company announced this week that they would be working with Cartoon Network to create a Ben 10 series of sets to be released next year. I don't think anyone was really expecting this, but I look forward to getting a look at them at Toy Fair next year.
I mentioned last week that there were some promotions planned. The new Reference Keepers were not what I was talking about, but congrats to Aravagantos, LewaLew, and *onua nuva* fan again anyway! Of course we had another promotion in the form of a new Reporter, Xccj aka Jason, who also deserves some congratulations!
Let's not forget the huge number of contests going in on June. There's got to be something out there for you!
Finally, the nominations process for the next cycle of LEGO Ambassadors has begun again. So far Omicron and I have been nominated, but we can send up to three candidates to LEGO, so if you're interested, post in the Talkback! I'll be making another entry with information for those interested in writing a testimonial for me this weekend.
