Ahahaha!

Well, I know during the 70s, the Oregon Dept. of Transportation went to Florence, Oregon and packed half a ton of dynamite into a dead whale that had washed up on the coast because they couldn't figure out any other way to get rid of it. They figured it would just break into smaller pieces due to the explosion, but it ended up that, to quote the reporter in the news cast, "The blast blasted blubber beyond all believable bounds" and everyone who was watching was left running while trying to doge flying pieces of whale blubber.

But, detonating squirrels though, now that is interesting.

Gosh, I love the West Coast for things like this. Exploding whales and detonating squirrels. No wonder people think we're so wacky.

Especially Port Townsend. If I ever write that one novel, it'll be set there.

And I seem to recall Dave Barry writing about that whale ages ago. I shall have to look for the column.
