When you're watching an indie/low-budget movie, one of the actors/actresses is holding a prop, and you look to your left to see one of the exact thing only not painted sitting on the table next to you, and it's actual use is nothing like it's film use.

What movie and prop would we be talking about?

 

A parody of the James Bond series I don't remember the name of that was at a local independent film festival I went to a few nights ago. The prop was supposed to be, for all intents and purposes, a tricorder mixed with a communicator. It's actually a recording interface they spraypainted.
