Reality Tv

As mentioned here, I had to write a short paragraph essay response towards Reality TV.

Well since I got it back with a Very Good on it, figured to share it.

Reality TV is “gladiatorial combat”. People do go all out and compete just to be featured on the show. However, it is in human nature to compete with others. Life is really about being the better man than the other guy, and reality TV feeds our ego so we can become the better man, or the big loser. However, I don’t really see much reality in reality TV. I seriously don’t see myself getting stranded on a tropical island, nor getting locked in a house with 6 other freaks. Where is the reality in that? It is the same for competing to become the next pop star. How is that real life? Sure the depressing factor of being a loser sure feels like life, but it isn’t much of a reality of today. I consider current news on CNN to be reality TV, because it is real and it is happening. I also consider personal video pod casts to be reality TV, because the person is filming their real lives. No competition. So in other words, the reality TV that we know and praise shouldn’t be considered reality TV at all.
