Brenmac Request V 2.0

Hopefully this one will stay open a little longer, but since this show has nothing bad on it, it should be. Anyways, Brenmac wants to ask everyone about the show Beyblades:

1. Have you heard of the show/toy line? If so, how?

2. What do you think of the show/toy line?

3. Should the new Beyblades for 2010 be made out of metal? Why or why not?

My answers:

1. There's a weird story behind this, but a little while ago, I was in study hall and some of the Dell logos they stick on computers came off, and as it turns out, they make great tops. One of the people there made a connection between that and Beyblades, so I did some research and found out more about it. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe either McDonalds' or Burger King did a toy promotion on it a very long time ago, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

2. I haven't seen much of it, but it looks pretty cool. The whole mythology behind it (example: a creature's soul is actually inside the disk/top/whatever) is a little weird, but aside from that, the show is entertaining. I find the toy line a lot more fascinating, especially with the customizable disks that you can use strategy for by adding more armor or more "weapons" or other types of add ons.

3. That would be cool, but I get the feeling that it would weigh it down so much that the tops wouldn't spin for as long and there would be a lot more mis-launches. Just my two cents.

I'll add a list of the 'blades I own and used to own at the end of this post.

1.I don't think I ever heard of the show prior to my earlier birthdays. I first got into the toy line when I got my first Beyblade nine years ago, Wyborg. I probably found the show and got into it. I don't know. My memory's very vauge.

2. The show I like mainly because of the Beybattles and the design of the Beyblades themselves. During the first season, they were drawn, which is what turned me off from the show. In V-Force (Season 2), they started using CGI instead. This was perfected in G-Revolution (season 3).

As for the toy line, they're just fun to play with. Wondering which one will win, how each 'blade moves, customization, etc. Really fun, even if you're doing it alone, which I often am.

3.I said this in my PM to MT, and I'll say it again: I don't think it's a good idea. Why? Because Beyblades are known to sometimes bounce up and hit you in the face or eye in you're not careful. And if the new ones for next year are made out of metal, it won't end well for Hasbro. Legally, at least.

Okay, so I promised a list of the ones I own at the end so here it is:

Orca Diver(My personal favorite in the collection.)

Manta Diver

Rushing Boar

Vortex Ape

Dranzer Auto Change Balancer

Dragoon Storm Phantom

Draciel G (RC)

Driger S (Slash)

Hopper Attack MS

Dark Effigy MS

Dranzer Spiral Phantom

Hayate 2

"Spinning Spirits" Dragoon

-Another SS Dragoon which is in translucent blue.

-A few knockoffs I found at a dollar store.

Along with the Beyblades listed above, I also own a couple of launchers and stadiums.

Launchers:

Duotron Master

Dragoon Shooter

Stadiums:

Dranzer Flame Field

Draciel Fortress

Formerly Owned:

-Wyborg (Lost it a long time ago.)

And finally, a little advice for those shopping online:

1.Don't buy anything with the "TT Hongli' logo on it.(Their Beyblades are know to be very brittle.)

2.Avoid Beyblades that look like this. (Also vey fragile.)

So that's my two cents (along with my entire collection!). One more thing I want to add: I've had this idea in mind about the Zehvor/GS's gettiing their own Beyblades. If MT likes the idea, then I'll expand on it. If not, well there's that.

...And all that took over an hour to write.(what with the pics and all.)

Woah, this thread died quicker than a moth! (Moths only live for two days) Well maybe not that quick, but...

(Revives topic) :P

Anyways, went to Wal-Mart with the intention of getting an HF set or two or may be a couple of Transformers. Ending up leaving with the new Storm Pegasus, Earth Virgo, Rock Lion, and Lightning LDrago. As it turns out, I was wrong about the Metal Fusion 'blades being totally made out of metal. At least the Hasbro ones aren't. These new ones are only made partially out of metal. Storm Pegasus doesn't spin for as long as I had hoped, while Earth Virgo and Rock Lion spin for much longer (being Stamina and Balance types) but stay in one place, making battles with them kinda boring. LDrago is my favorite of the four, me being a huge fan of dragons, but it has so many decals to put on! (With nearly every Beyblade I've ever gotten requiring the application of decals, along with some of the HF villians from wave one, you think I would've gotten used to this by now.) Another issue I have with these new tops is that 'Faces' come encased in plastic that is difficult to remove. This wasn't the case with Rock Lion and LDrago, as they came already put together. Other than that, I'm really liking these new additions to my collection and the new line.

While I don't think I'll be starting any new Beyblade discussion here anytime soon, I did want to tell you all of this.
