I doubt the LEGO officials judging the contest would acknowledge the green Gelu helmet anyway, and disqualify you for using a "painted" piece.

The shoulder armor is interesting. I haven't seen that one.

Gelu helmet dude is awesome. On a slightly-but-not-entirely-related note I've taken pics of my mag contest entry and just need to get a photo-quality printout before I can send it.

You know what I thought of that would be difficult to make without completely custom parts and custom recolors, but still awesome? It'd be neat if there were a Jungle Glatorian with a mushroom motif, making use of Kalmah armor pieces and similarly-styled parts. Probably something I should try to draw in the future.
