Better get used to the internet. Any web site you go to can do this. The only reason it's visible to higher-level BZ staff is because it's part of the forum software - any other forum you go to is the same way.

And it's a good feature, because when someone tries to attack the site, we can block his or her IP and keep you safe.

You do know that the locations given are attributed to your ISP and if you don't even live in the same city as your ISP is located then it will display the location of the ISP. At the best it just gives us a region. The only way we could use your IP to pinpoint your location is to somehow get that information from your ISP.

Do you mean "not being trusted?" If so we don't track IPs on the basis on not trusting people (it's just a standard feature of the forum, every forum has it). In fact it's fairly standard practice for websites to track the IPs of users visiting their website.

Also, I'm not sure why you have trust issues with us. We NEVER use IP addresses for anything other than dupe account tracking or banning of persistent pricks.

I haven't met you in real life so for all I know mods (sept one Moderator I have met) could all be one person
