Arpy Posted November 4, 2009 Oh man I totally know what you mean. This is why you should have been at BrickCon. :3 No, actually, I have this hilarious anecdote. Or maybe you had to have been there for it to be hilarious. I was hanging with the space guys and one of them was talking about this cashier girl and someone was all 'well why don't you go get her number?' and so this guy was like 'okay watch me' so some of us went along and did. Then we just sort of hovered around the Lego Store tables and debated pickup lines (if you fill my PaB bag, I'll fill your heart with love!) and waited for him to get up the guts, but he was thwarted by the very thought of Gary MacIntire. Sadface. She really was cute, though. Quote Link to comment
Dorek Posted November 4, 2009 This is why I needed to be at BrickCon. And this is why I -will- be there next year. I wouldn't have chickened out. Well okay maybe I would have. I should also go and get this girls number but I don't wanna be a stalker >> Quote Link to comment
Toaraga Posted November 4, 2009 I lost my 2x4. Can I have yours? LEGO bricks and I have one thing in common: studs. ©1984-2009 Toaraga EAM Quote Link to comment
Aanchir Posted November 4, 2009 My local store got stuck with the old, fat ones. WHY LEGO WHY OMG lego is cheeping out lulz Be sure to tell us what you think of Skopio. IMO it's not nearly as brilliant as Cendox or Thornatus, but it's still fairly impressive. Quote Link to comment
Dorek Posted November 4, 2009 I <3 it. The repetitive build was a little annoying (three legs was fine; building the fourth tipped me over the edge a bit) but it was worth it, as it comes together beautifully. I <3 the various functions, too, like the folding armor behind Telluris. Telluris' feet impede the tank mode just a smidgen, but it's ignorable. My one real grip would be the jaws. They depend on a balance between one of the weakest LEGO pieces ever, the little mini horns, to stay open, which was a bad design move, in my opinion. I thought the detachable life counter was quite interesting, too. I'll just leave it on Skopio, but it is a good extension of the gimmick. Also, the 1x2 liftarms (with one pin and one axle hole) totally limit the poseability of the Skopio legs; I sort of see that they prevent the legs from going to far forward, but I don't have any use for them. I removed them. It's probably my favorite vehicle of the year. Cendox would be a close second, if not for the wobbly Thornax Launcher. Thornatus comes in third, then Kaxium, then Baranus. Little Miss Krahka Posted November 6, 2009 AFOLs are pretty studly, I must say. Also: I kinda wish that the Lego booth/store/thing at the mall near by didn't close down, because I could use a job. I also kinda wish that there were jobs around here period because I could really use one. Plus I have my Star Trek uniform for when I need to pick up nerdy guys. Hehe. Quote Link to comment
