Catra Posted November 23, 2009 Isn't book burning illegal only if you get caught dx you gilly soose Also fire works, knife doesn't, you need to use natural substances like stone or wood or fire or ivory or something Quote Link to comment
Guest kopakanuva13 Posted November 23, 2009 If someone is that obsessed with hating the books, they're worse than the people obsessed with the books. Honestly. I'd rather have someone who spends all their time ranting about fictional characters than one who goes on and on about why a stupid book deserves to be burned. >.> ~cap'n Quote Link to comment

Why do people always have to complain and argue and be rude about things they dislike? Can't people just say "I don't like it" and leave it at that, without all the unnecessary and frankly over-the-top annoying hating and flaming? To quote Obi-Wan, "So uncivilized." I'm sorry, but I'm just tired of seeing stuff bashed for no reason. I'm not a fan of Twilight at all, but I don't despise it and make fun of it. It'd be pointless to do so. Quote Link to comment

Blue Fire Posted November 23, 2009 Though I agree I despise Twilight, I must say it's a waste of a perfectly good book. Instead, hollow it out and place inside food, guns, something Stephen King/other horror writers stories inside. Or recycle it or something. Think creative! Quote Link to comment

People can choose to be nicer about things. Just as I chose to leave it at "I dislike it", so can everyone else. Some people just enjoy being ridiculous, I guess. Quote Link to comment

It just bugs me to see people being ridiculous and rude about things (and also pretty hypocritical, because seriously, some people like Twilight. I know 2 people who do, and I'm sure there are others on BZPower. And wouldn't YOU be pretty miffed if you saw someone saying this kind of thing about something YOU liked?). Quote Link to comment

If people are that thin skinned that they can't take someone disliking something they like then they have the problem and they need to get off the internet Quote Link to comment

Xaeraz Posted November 25, 2009 As much as I would like to have a positive comment, I cannot bring myself to accept the burning of any books. Not even this one. You could have at least turned it into paper recycle so it could have become something better that it already is. Like, legal documents or Foreclosure notices or traffic tickets or stuff like that. Also your new name is Guy Montag. Quote Link to comment

Bundalings Posted November 25, 2009 I prefer to think of it as combating a threat to society. Indeed! But burning the book requires you to buy it. And that is not good. Unless of course you stole it... ~Bunda Quote Link to comment

I like to think of it like demolishing a petrol/gas station - the land's so contaminated that it's useless for the next decade or so without expensive chemical treatment. Also YES. Jonestown Bartender Posted November 26, 2009 Maybe we should burn some copies of F401 For the irony of course, it was a good book. Quote Link to comment
Xaeraz Posted November 26, 2009 F401? Never heard of it. Farenhiet (SP?) 451, yes. =P Also, again, paper recycle, not burning. More environmentally healthy, anywho. Quote Link to comment
