Email From Lego

Some of you may be familiar with King of Nynrah's petition group that he started when the ending rumors first began. When the rumors were confirmed, we were told to email LEGO asking them to bring the line back. A few days ago I did so (Why, why did I not save a copy...) and received this response. It's near identical to the one sent to Black Six, so it makes me think that it was copy-pasted and edited slightly. (And why did they not get the joke about my name being "Ann Onymous"?)

Dear Ann

I am so sorry that you are unhappy with the LEGO Group’s decision to suspend new production of the BIONICLE® line. I can assure you that this decision was not made lightly. We only reached this decision after much careful consideration.

From the very start, BIONICLE has thrived on the combination of fascinating storylines and uniquely creative sets. It is this amazing combination that led BIONICLE to be truly pioneering in the field of buildable action figures. BIONICLE has proven again and again to inspire truly amazing dedication in the innumerable fans that count the line as one of their greatest passions. It is no doubt that BIONICLE fans span all age groups and international borders, further proving its outstanding accomplishments as a LEGO theme.

Unfortunately, in the recent past we have noticed that BIONICLE is not attracting as many new fans as it once did. This presented us with a tough question: Do we continue on with BIONICLE or take a calculated risk and embrace a new and exciting challenge? We feel that now is the perfect time for the latter.

Although we have reached the decision to halt further development of the BIONICLE line, we have done so with the fans foremost in our minds. That is why we are happy to say that the BIONICLE story will not be ending. The story will continue to grow on bioniclestory.com. The site will remain live and will be updated by long-time BIONICLE writer Greg Farshtey. We also chose to make our official announcement with BZPower first. We recognize that this site is a gathering place for our most dedicated fans and wanted to ensure that you were the first to know.

Please again accept my apologies for any disappointment you may be feeling over our decision to halt development of future BIONICLE sets. As was expressed in our official statement, we are harnessing the true spirit of BIONICLE as we move forward. As we have learned from the tales of the Toa striving for success in any mission requires imagination, new ways of thinking, and the willingness to take risks. We hope you will share the same level of enthusiasm we have for our plans for the future. I can assure you that we have very exciting plans to expand upon the buildable action figure theme that BIONICLE pioneered. I urge you to stay tuned; we have truly revolutionary things in store for the future.

Thank you again for supporting BIONICLE these past eight years. We truly appreciate your passion and dedication.

If there is ever anything that we can assist you with please do not hesitate to let us know.

Best wishes.

Rachel

EDIT: This has nothing to do with the above but what happened to my avatars? D:

Maybe they got your joke, but wasn't sure if it was a joke, so they just used Ann.

Or, Rachel is really a robot. :fear:

That explains the similarity to B6's e-mail.

You notice how they use the word suspend?

As in, "suspend indefinitely?" Yeah, that basically means they don't have plans to bring it back. Not to say they couldn't still make plans at some unknown future date. But that's a thin thread to hang your hopes on.
