You can copy the text you want to link, paste it in Paint, then save it. You then link it just like a picture. Will that work?

Open the program, and go into the "animal" section. A few clicks should bring you to the instructions.

In my BZPC's I said I was gonna scan them for you but it seems you have an NXT with program, so I see no point in that.

See here. As for how to use them, I only know how to use GIFAnimator. Basically you just copy and paste the frames in.

Edit: BTW, I can make some Mahritoran sprites if you need them too badly.
