Lots And Lots Of F1 News

Ok, first of all I haven't been on recently because we were getting a new PC and today it has arrived.

But forget that because I have some big and I mean big F1 news.

1. Renault are to stay in F1 next season. :happydance:

2. All the teams that have submitted for 2010 (Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren, Renault, Toro Rosso, Williams, Force India, Sauber, Lotus, Virgin, US F1 and Campos) will take part in a joint launch in January. The teams are expected to present their cars ahead of the first pre-season test in Valencia at the end of January.

3. In spite of what we thought, Abu Dhabi will end the F1 season again. Governing body, the FIA, backed a proposal to swap the dates between Abu Dhabi, which will again host a twilight race, and Brazil. The calendar also pushed back the Japanese Grand Prix to 24 October.

4. There will be a British Grand Prix next year and it will be held at Silverstone.

5. And finally a brand new points system will be put into place next year. The new system will see the winner take 25 points, 20 for second place, 15 for coming third and then 10, eight, six, five, three, two and one points. This means the top 10, not the top eight, will score points.

1. Good news, even though they are only now holding a 25% minority stake. It's like the team will be called Panasonic Renault F1 or Megafon Renault F1 depending on what their title sponsor is. Kubica will most likely stay and it seems to be between Kobayashi or Vitaly Petrov for the second seat.

2. Yeah, this is only provisional. It may in fact take place over a week, saying Ferrari, USF1 and Williams release their cars one day, McLaren, Campos and Toro Rosso the next, etc, etc, until at the end of this being complete, they'd gather at a track that is near to the proposed location for the first big group test.

3. To be honest, as good as Abu Dhabi is aesthetically, you can't beat the Brazilian races for action. For whatever reason, they have often been the highlight of the year, so, meh...:P

4. Wootness!!! :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :D Very happy about that. Here's hoping I get to go!

5. Makes sense really with 26 cars racing compared to the 20 of this year. i think it averages out as pretty much the same chance to score, not less or more, which is good.

Lotus say their drivers will be announced Monday (It's expected to be between Kovalainen, Trulli and Sato for the race seats) and Lucas Di Grassi is claiming his deal with Manor is done. If that's the case, he'll partner Glock.
