someone told me once about this story some natives have. whenever someone smiles, a beast is supposed to come and steal your soul. when any tourists smile at them they take it as a way of you telling them you want them to die. so the natives banish you. if you still smile and dont leave they skin you alive.

the tribe eventually died out, but the way they died was strange. many of the villagers were blue faced, with nothing but a stare. some reportedly have gone insane by staring into their eyes, mumbling about how they felt as though their souls were being sucked out.
