9.75 Feet

That is how tall my ceiling is from the floor.

The HHGTTG poster is 9 feet tall.

My bed is about three feet above the floor.

And let us also take note that putting a sticky 3M hook on the wall would "lower" the ceiling 3 inches.

In the end, the string is too stretchy that the poster lowers another foot, annoyingly.

This is what it looks like.

I was expecting to only be able to see the top two thirds, but that extra foot is making hanging it not worth my while. I'd try extra hooks but I don't think I have anything that would be able to hold it up. (And besides, the one will probably rip the paint off the wall, as usual here in the dorms.)

I will probably take it down, even though it'll mean having to shuffle my posters around again, even though I already did that, but this just doesn't look too pleasing...

And someone will have to put it to good use.

You need to do something about that string! Maybe you can wrap it around the thing that's holding it up?

The poster is way cooler when it's hanging up. B)

The problem about wrapping the string is that 1) laying down, I can not get any more stretch out of it (to tie it more) and 2) hanging like this puts it taut, impossible to wrap it around more.

This would be so much easier if I could put nails in my wall...

Maybe you should've thought about this siuation before you accepted a 9 foot tall poster. :sly:

I myself only have two smalish posters hanging in my room, so I guess I might not understand the value of having every inch of my wall covered.

Try using 2 or three more 3M hooks if you have them lying around. That might work, but it won't look too good. 3M has a lot of products like this, try to look around and see what you can find.

But then it would just be rotting behind the downstairs concession if I hadn't decided to give it a good home!

This thing is probably 3-4 pounds, and the 3M hook I'm using is said to hold up to 5 lbs. I doubt the blue sticky tack I'm using for posters will really hold up well.

Also, this is what it looked like (but now TDK replaced The Fallen, and Star Trek is scrunched in there too). The entire wall next to my bed has this poster.

What a shame. It would be epic to have it hang across your ceiling, but that would most likely cover over the light. Could you put it up in your dorm's living room instead? I don't know what your set-up is...
