e. e. cummings (lowercase to respect how he likes to write) is a poet who experiments with grammar and breaks the rules of the English language.

I want to hug him because a poem of his that we read and deciphered in English today gave me a story idea.

I want to kill him because a little bit of rage instinctively boils up in me when I see bad grammar. And since many of his poems are all not proper grammar, you can guess how much rage I've boiled in my pot.

What I hate: the English classes that drill you on and on about the use of proper grammar, making your sentenses make sense, ext... and then regard works which do not follow those rules, or whose writing makes no sense, as literary masterpieces. :annoyed2:

xccj: But to understand and be able to not follow the rules means that you have to know and understand the actual rules themselves. ;) At least, I think of it that way.

E.E. Cummings is a pretty neat poet, if you ask me. I couldn't get over his bizarre typography at first, but beneath that, some of his poems are pretty powerful. There was one I read the other day that I liked very much; it's a shame I can't remember its name. :P

One of the main things that annoys me about English class is "dissecting" everything that we read/watch. I read for enjoyment, not psychology and understanding... >_<
