Its still a valid point about Ben 10. Those pieces are just not as solid as Bionicle pieces of the same size.

The weight isn't the only important factor, the complexity of the pieces influences the prices too.

That's completely tangent. Most of us are comparing HF (aka Bionicle 2010) to bionicle's standards. Almost every set from HF, including canisters, titans are vehicles has systematically less pieces, less value, lesser building experience and <= functions to the 2009 sets with the same price. The only exception would be the heroes which are as much of a rip off as the 2009 agori.

Number of pieces ≠ amount of plastic used. There are a bunch of large pieces that use more plastic than a bunch of tiny pins.

You are aware of the spiking cost of oil, no? I'm pretty sure LEGO didn't specifically request that they be raised, so I don't see why you're placing the blame solely on them.
