Hope Vs. Blind Faith

Hope is very different from blind faith. One definition of hope from dictionary.com: The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best. Now let's look at blind faith: Belief without true understanding, perception, or discrimination. Vast difference. Let's see, which word has a more positive note? Hope. However, blind faith is often disguised as hope and better marketed. Blind faith is a vehicle for, and uses as a vehicle, prejudice, hate, discrimination, murder, lies... You see my point. Let's list what the accomplishments of hope have: Motivates numerous people around the world, has been the primary drive behind human accomplishments such as innovation (we hope our changes make it better or can be used), justice, what pushes very different people to be friends. Hope has been one of the most benevolent forces of the human psyche. However, it can be that hope fails. However, that may be blind faith in some circumstances, in others, the people hoping were stupid. Hope is a great thing. It leads us to victory, and teaches us in the worst of times. However, blind faith is a scourge of intellect and humanity. One example is blind faith in our religion or leaders. The Crusades. The 1692 witch hunts. There are so many atrocities. Blind faith is oen fo the many dregs of existence slowly dragging us down. But hope and knowledge and understanding are tugging hard, and helping those who can use their mind wisely back up to help those who cannot. Humanity, in this day and age of perversion, fashion, vanity, hate, thinly veiled prejudice, and war, is long overdue for a test of its strength. This is religious in no way whatsoever. I was giving the Crusades as an example. I'm saying that hope and blind faith are as different to each other as is crumb to space shuttle.

Oh, and I encourage you all to copy the article below and paste it in your blogs to spread a message. I have no idea what that message is, but it's one that should be spread anyways.

I was kidding. And I'm saying, hope is a good thing. That's not a bad thing. Blind faith is. And there are some optimists who make a bad name for others by having too much of it.
