Polly Want A Cracker!
The Campus Activity Board plans on-campus events, usually for the weekend to provide for something to do, all done by students. (Planning that is; they get in professionals for things like comedy and they get to play movies, etc.)
This past Friday was the annual Springfest (not like JMU's), where organizations provide fun activities, CAB has music, Rita's Italian Ice sets up free cups, etc. This year's theme was "A Party at the Ends of the World!". Different "continents" had various activities.
One thing CAB did was bring in a bird wildlife group. They brought in about half a dozen parrots and other exotic birds and were walking around with them, as well as showing them off at their tent.
Also, CCM (as well as the other clubs) were offered space for activities. We did sand art keychains, which attracted a great crowd. All 150 small keychain bottles we bought were gone within an hour. Wow! (We also attempted to tie it in with the Footprints in the Sand Story.) Great way to get our name out on campus.
