Yeah it has been awhile.

This time we have the summon Shiva, from several Final Fantasies.

Name: Shiva

Game: Final Fantasy III-XII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Class: Summon

Other Classifications: Esper (FF6), Guardian Force (FF8), Eidolon (FF9), Aeon (FF10 and X-2), Avatar (FF11), Airship (FF12)

Attack: Diamond Dust (All games); Heavenly Strike (FF10)

Shiva made her first appearance in Final Fantasy III, which introduced the new system of Summoning Magic. Since she represents Ice, she is considered the Goddess or Maiden of Ice throughout the FF series, and is placed in opposition to that of Ifrit, the demonic Summon of Fire. Although it is never mentioned in the FF series, but only hinted in FF8, it can be said that Shiva and Ifrit have had their rivalry which probably led to many fights with each other.

Shiva can be learned in a variety of ways in the FF series. In FF3, she is learned through the Summon spell Icen. In FF4, she is automatically learned when Rydia (summoner) rejoins your party. In FF5, Shiva resides under Walz Castle and must be defeated in order for you to summon her. In FF6 she joins your team through the means of Magicite, at the same time with Ifrit. In FF7, you acquire her as a Materia from Priscilla in the town of Junon. FF8 she is in your Tutorial and can be drawn from there. In FF9, she can be learned from the gemstone Opal. In FF10, she is the Aeon in Macalania Temple. Although she can't be summoned in FFX-2, she can be fought as a boss in the Farplane.

Although Shiva was not a summon in FF12, she makes a reprisal as an Airship (as seen above). According to the Clan Primer in FF12, The Shiva: No. 1 Light Cruiser Class Airship belonging to the 8th Fleet of the Archadian Imperial Army. Ordered to return to Rabanastre after the nethicite fragment known as the "Dawn Shard" was recovered, but sank in an explosion thought to have been caused by the relic before she could make port. Shiva, as a summon, was replaced by the Esper Mateus in FF12.

I am confused about how you keep abbreviating the Final Fantasy series as FF(#). Like FF2, for example. It bears an awkward resemblance to the Function-2 key at the top of my keyboard! :o

Lego seriously needs to contact Square Enix and get a Bionicle/Final Fantasy fusion thing going. If it works with Disney, imagine what it could be with Bionicle. Final Chronicle ftw.

Finicle? ;) I like the idea of FF based LEGO sets. And maybe a clever MOCer (of which there are many on this forum) could come up with some Bionicle based Summons.

And Omi, I may need to reread the Clan Primer...but isn't Mateus described as using a "Goddess of Ice" as a shield? Some have discussed if this is actually Shiva.

Maybe like a spin-off Final Fantasy, something like Final Fantasy: Unlimited, where its a fantasy world, but keeps it ties with Final Fantasy by incorporating the FF elements of Summons, Chocobos, and Cids. :P

I noticed that too. Mateus (being a dude) uses a chick as a human shield, which gives him that feminine look. Although Mateus was a chick in Tactics Advance.

So who knows. :P

*refuses to get sucked into yet another Epic idea he doesn't have time to work on*

;)

Maybe a series of short stories...after Rebirth.
